The lonely bones

There are skeletons in the closet.

There are shadow people in the attic.

There is an abomination in the tree house.

There are secrets reproducing under our skin, parasites making tunnels inside our bones… eating away at us, devouring our soul.

Shutting the closets, locking the attic, and setting the tree house on fire will not solve the problem.

If anything, it will burden us mentally and weaken us physically, prolong our suffering and postpone any chance of closure.

But, why do we keep doing it I wonder!

Could it be because of the fear we feel? Or is it because of the shame and guilt we fear? All these inward vices that lurk in disguise make us go astray. That’s exactly when we start looking for love and begging for safety in all the wrong places.

And that’s exactly when others start to play tricks on us, mess with our head, mess us up… blaspheme at our expense, tell us false tales, tell us who we are, what we can do and what we cannot, what we should do and what we should not…

But, why do we keep doing this too I wonder.

I’m no psychiatrist. I’m no anthropologist either. But I’m pretty sure we’re the most erratic creatures the Universe has known ever since Genesis Day.

And, because of that, we’ve forgotten how wonderful life can be.

It’s never too late to face our demons, emerge from our darkness, soak up God’s light, break out from our inner prison, go to the sea, feel the sand as it slips into our toes, pick a boat and work our way toward in a new start…

Believe in these words, believe in Folding Fox, and most importantly, believe in yourself. You’ve got potential, and so, from now on, your new life’s mission is to rediscover yourself. And do your best to make it fun because it is fun.

Chin up, wear a smile, count to three, and go!

Spread those glorious wings of yours and fly high!

Breathe in the wind and shout, “I’m not alone anymore!”

Firstly, because you just realized you’re your own first and last best friend.

Secondly, because you never know who you might bump into and with whom you might start a flock.
